The Canastota Public Library in conjunction with Mid-York Library System will offer a Microsoft Excel Basics training on Friday May 6 from 2 – 4pm. The training session will focus on navigating the Excel interface, entering data into cells, formatting numbers, text and cells and learning to operate auto sum and perform basic formulas. The training session will be helpful for those using Microsoft Excel to create a personal budget.
This training is offered through a grant through the New York State Library, a unit of the Office of Cultural Education within the New York State Education Department. The funds were received from the Federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Broadband Technology Opportunity Program (BTOP). Jennifer Recht, from Mid-York Library System, will provide the training. Recht received her M.S. in Library and Information Science from Syracuse University and recently joined Mid-York’s staff as BTOP Digital Literacy Librarian and Trainer.
This training will be offered free of charge. Due to limitations in space and computer access, reservations must be made by calling the library at 697-7030.
The Canastota Public Library is a place of community pride and service and has been providing services since 1896. The library is located at 102 W. Center Street in Canastota.
